CYM- Confirmation Youth Ministry-- Grades 7 & 8 We are aware that since baptism, students have been on a journey of learning, growing, and maturing in the story of Jesus Christ and their life in God's love. As these students continue this growth through the Middle School years, we invite them to become more aware of their Christian beliefs and questions. Our purpose and goals are - to cultivate lasting Christian relationships with classmates and adults - to teach Martin Luther's Small Catechism - to lead Bible study and help students apply lessons
to their lives - to provide Sunday & Wednesday Learning Events - to participate in community service opportunities - to offer fellowship opportunities - to promote full participation in the life of the church - to nurture a positive and enthusiastic environment among students - to help prepare students to give public affirmation of their baptism into Christ - to challenge the students to discover and fulfill God's purpose for their lives We achieve these goals though the following elements: Learning events Wednesdays - large group instruction led by pastors followed by covenant group discussion led by an adult mentor Sundays - Group instruction led by Confirmation teachers. Small Group Fellowships Events - a bonding time for each group to build trust, care, and healthy relationships through time spent together. Servanthood Events - Students and adults respond to the call of Christ to work for fairness and a just way of life for all people, especially the poor, the oppressed, and the forgotten. Weekend Retreats - sponsored by Northwest Wisconsin Synod in April, Luther Park. In October and Youth Encounter in March Summer Camps - A week of spiritual renewal in the summer sun with friends from all |
