Red Cedar Medical Center-Mayo Health System In 2006, the Red Cedar Clinic and Myrtle Werth Hospital merged to form one organization – Red Cedar Medical Center-Mayo Health System. The medical center promotes a hometown family feeling where patient care is our number one priority. Red Cedar Medical Center has 15 family physicians, three general surgeons, five general internists, three emergency room physicians, three orthopedic surgeons, six physician assistants and two nurse practitioners. In addition, the medical center has physicians specializing in obstetrics/gynecology, pediatrics and podiatry. Red Cedar Medical Center is also a 25-bed hospital that serves Menomonie and the surrounding communities. Hospital services include: intensive and coronary care unit; cardiac rehabilitation; obstetrics/women’s health services; a medical-surgical unit; physical rehabilitation; respiratory therapy; outpatient surgery; inpatient surgery; full-service laboratory; a dialysis unit; and radiology including ultrasound, nuclear medicine, CT scanning, mammography. The emergency room is a Trauma Level IV, which can provide stabilization and advanced trauma life support prior to patient transfer. The ER handles approximately 8,000 patients per year. Marshfield Clinic - Menomonie Center
On February 14, 2002, Marshfield Clinic-Menomonie Center opened its doors and began to serve the people of Menomonie, Dunn County, and Western Wisconsin. A new 12,000 square foot facility stands on four acres of land on Highway 29 in the Stout Technology Park. The building has been designed to allow for future growth and expansion. The Menomonie Center is staffed by three primary care physicians plus patient care and support personnel. Lab and x-ray services are available on-site. Hospital services will be available through Myrtle Werth Hospital, a 55 bed acute primary care facility located a short distance from the new Menomonie Center, and Sacred Heart Hospital, a 344 bed acute care, regional medical facility located 20 miles east in Eau Claire, WI.

Dunn County Sharps Collection Program
Starting on April 2 2007, people who use syringes, lancets and other sharps medical items at home, such as people with diabetes and other medical conditions, will now be able to properly dispose of these items separately from their household trash for free.To encourage people who generate sharps at home to properly dispose of them, the groups listed below are providing free sharps containers and free disposal of full containers.
