The Wisconsin Film Office, A branch of the State Department of Tourism,
Is a great place for the whole Family to Visit, it was created as a full-time office in 1987. The purpose of the Film Office is to sell Wisconsin – our talent, resources, and enthusiasm – as a location for on-site filmmaking, and to facilitate the production of feature and independent film, video, television, commercial, documentary, industrial, corporate, informercial and educational projects. These efforts have resulted in millions of new dollars for the state, and many local, temporary jobs for our people. The Wisconsin Film Office promotes Wisconsin as a location for on-site filmmaking and facilitates the production of a wide variety of film and video projects. The Office also serves as an information clearinghouse for the state's film industry. Filmmaking is big business in Wisconsin. The solid working relationship between the Film Office, our regional film liaisons, and city and state government agencies create a state ready and willing to support local and visiting filmmakers in all efforts to create successful on-location film productions.
