Let's Check Out About The State Flag
An official design for Wisconsin State flag was initially provided by the legislature in 1863.
The State flag was officially approved by legislative action on April 26,1913.
Wisconsin's flag is made from dark ,blue silk. The state coat of arms is embroidered on both sides with silk of different colors. It is trimmed with knotted yellow fringe silk. This design was unchanged until 1979.
Wisconsin's first flag was designed in 1863. Centered on a dark blue field is the United States shield. On the right is a yeomen ( miner) representing labor on land.On the left is a sailor representing labor on water. They are holding a shield which has symbols for agriculture. A plow represents agriculture. The pick and shovel stands for mining. Manufacturing is represented by an arm and hammer. The anchor represents manufacturing. In the middle of the shield is a small United States coat of arms and the United States motto. A horn of plenty is below the shield. It represents abundance and prosperity. The 13 original United States are represented by 13 ingots which represent mineral and wealth.
Above the shield is a badger, and l848, the year that Wisconsin became a state.
